Virtual Intelligent Sales Assistant

What is virtual intelligent sales assistant (V.I.S.A.) software?

The software is a web based app that can run on any website with the addition of a small amount of code to your web-page. It only takes a few minutes to get started. The app is run from our own server so that multiple websites utilise the same system, but the output is customised so that no two websites would follow exactly the same interaction. Communication with website visitors creates a unique conversation with each visitor.

Chatterbots or Virtual Agents, quite often appear almost intelligent because they are programmed to provide correct information for certain key words. The problem is they are poor at handling context and they don't store the information they gather during a conversation in a way that is easy to link to similar things. Something our brains do, with no effort at all.

The V.I.S.A. artificial intelligence, works by breaking each sentence into objectives, tasks, actors, tools, assets, timing and locations. By fitting each task onto a timeline, and looking at the various components it is able to determine the relationships between each. It has learned how relationships fit together in many situations and as a result it can even pick when some things are not possible. In other words, the V.I.S.A. has a very good understanding of its environment. We call this Adaptive Space Time Objective Result Modelling (A.S.T.O.R.M.). Occasionally it still encounters unknown relationships, so it can make mistakes ... as humans do when they are learning.

Virtual intelligent sales assistant software was started in 1982. The project end goal has always been the same ... "To create an intelligent personal humanoid robot" ... and with the experience and knowledge being gleaned from the website V.I.S.A. we are moving ever closer to that goal. Back in the 1980's it was clear to me that the mechanics of building such a thing was just a matter of time. That technology is available today and becoming more affordable year by year. The puzzle that needed solving was how to create thinking software?

If I knew then what I know now, I'd probably never have started the project. I had some idea of how it might be achieved and thought I could pull it together in 5 to 10 years. 41 years on ... we're not quite there yet!
